Three ways to motivate your employees everyday

MUTUAL UNDERSTANDING OF WHAT IS EXPECTED OF THEM
Make sure your employees know exactly what you expect them to deliver to the business on any given day. In this way there are no nasty surprises, and, any team member will know whether or not they are reaching the standard you have set for them. Your team will feel engaged when they make headway toward objectives. Provide clear goals and resources to support their progress. Once mutual trust exists you can allow freedom to innovate and this in itself will drive the business forward.

SHARE THE COMPANY’S MISSION WITH THEM
Your company doesn’t need a lofty mission to make employees care. But your mission statement must make sense to you and all your team before you can have real buy-in. They simply need to see how their actions contribute to company value, like a service or product. Remember you cannot buy excellence, but commitment to an inspirational goal will bring performance to a new level.

REWARD AND RECOGNISE
Something special is achieved everyday and the recognition of this will ensure that winning habits are developed in your organisation. Show appreciation every day for the work your employees do. ‘Thank you’ are two very easy words to say, but we often fail to use them to express our appreciation to our employees at the end of a busy day. You may say ‘well I pay them to do that job of work’ and for sure you do. The job, as you expect, is what you pay for, but when you get performance above and beyond your expectations, be sure to recognise it and thank those involved.
