If you enjoyed this presentation and would be like to make a small contribution to a charity we are supporting, please follow the link below. There is no obligation but if you do want to contribute, anything of your own choice would be great. The charity is WALK DES HOME.

Des Vallely was going through Dublin’s city centre on his electric bike when he was involved in an accident in a cycle lane. It left him with serious injuries, including having to have an operation in which part of his skull was removed. His family’s world was turned upside-down on January 8th, this year, when Des was in the accident. Not even his helmet was able to save him from a crushing blow to the skull, against a cycle bollard.

A GoFundMe page has been set up to help Des walk again with his family. Des is described as a man who ‘saw life as an adventure’, he had travelled around Ireland and the world. He took the exciting challenge of setting up his own business, Irish Village Markets.

WALK DES HOME is a fundraising appeal aiming to raise €400,000 so that one day Des can venture out to walk with his family. Help their fundraiser by donating to the WALK DES HOME GoFundMe page. You can get more information and also stay up-to-date on his journey, #WalkDesHome, on Facebook, Instagram and Twitter
